So this is our new blog at DM. I look forward to sharing news, ideas, insight and then some.
My first blog is about my favorite topic, marketing online to Hispanics. While this market is extremely lucrative and a viable option for online marketers, it takes some research and ability.
First you need to know which type of Hispanic you are marketing to. You can't just target hispanics in general, as there are 2 main groups, US and International. The International can be separated into another 4 groups based on geographic regions, Europeans (ex. Spain), Central American, South American and Caribbean Hispanics. The US Hispanics can also be split into several main groups based on either Geography (ex. New York, Texas, Miami, etc.) or country of origin such as Puerto Rico, Cuba, Mexico, Argentina and so forth. Not to mention Spanish speaking only, English speaking only and bilinguals.
Each of the International regions can also be split into countries, dialects and so forth. My point is, don't assume that the Hispanic market is just one market; it is made up of several markets and each has its own demographic breakdowns that characterize them.
Do some research before you hit hte ground running. But once you do your research, you will find that the competition is much less cutthroat than the oversaturated US Enlglish only markets we are usually acustomed to woring with.
good luck!
